Day 3 of Fusion Schedule: Shoulders & Arms w/ Ab Ripper X

Today i got my Bowflex Heart Rate Monitor and it was such a good buy.  It was kind of hard to set up but in the end i sort of got it to work.  Today was Shoulders and Arms with Ab Ripper X.   During Ab Ripper X my Abs Felt as sore as anything, therefore i just couldnt get the whole thing done.  I stopped after the pulse ups and i was done.  My abs have been really sore for the past couple of days because every day i have been doing something where abs are incorporated into the workout.  At the end of the workouts i was drained and loved it, Shoulders and Arms has to be my favorite workout because I LOVE MY ARMS, i cant get enough of them =)
          So today was awesome and i burnt 706 calories and i burnt 94 grams of Body Fat ( NICE ).  I cant wait until i do a double Cardio Day, i should burn A TON OF FAT AND CALORIES !!!

Day 2 of Fusion Schedule

Today was nothing less than INSANE.  I started my workout off with Rev Abs' Power Intervals which is pretty crazy, i hate those damn lunges with the weights ughh.  but anyway now that i look back on it i am glad that i pushed through the pain and discomfort.  After Power Intervals was P90X's Cardio X.  Now this was my first time Ever doing Cardio X and it was AWESOME.  It started off with Yoga which was a so called Warm Up, Nottttttt  haha.  It was nice to get back to some Yoga moves. there wasnt alot of Yoga maybe 15 minutes of it , but it was enough =) .   It also incorporated Plyo moves , Kenpo Moves, and some killer ab exercises.  Doing Abs-Core Plus Yesterday i definitely felt it today doing the ab moves.

It was a crazy day, all in all, and i burnt 850+ Calories in a little over an hour.  I purchased a reebok heart rate monitor yesterday and this one comes with a chest strap which i dont have with my current Sportsline one.  It also allows you to download your info onto your computer i think and track what your minimum and Max HR was and the % of Fat you burned out of your total calories.  I cant wait to get it, probably getting it tomorrow and i will blog on my thoughts of it.
 Tomorrow is Shoulders and Arms w/ Ab Ripper X.  I love this workout because i love working out my Biceps and Triceps and Shoulders, Its what everyone notices besides your abs.

P90X/P90X+/Rev Abs Fusion Day 2

today was Power Intervals and Kenpo+ from the P90X+ programs.  TODAY WAS INSANE PERIOD.
first time doing Kenpo+ and its very different From regular Kenpo.  Kenpo+ is much more fast paced and he does not demonstrate how to do the moves he just goes for it and i guess if you know the moves already its good but if its your first time like me its kinda awkward.  It was still a Kick Ass workout and i enjoyed it ALOT.  I burned 1050 Calories today and i didnt even eat that many before the workout.  I worked out around 1 and all i had was Oatmeal in the Morning and Golean Cereal before the workout.  I do want to try and incorporate more carbs into my diet because of the Doubles that i am  now doing. So i will let you guys know how that works out if i get more carbs in.  I also must eat a little more so i can refuel my body properly after a workout like this.  

Another Important Note:
-  On wednesdays i will Do X STRETCH not a Weight Lifting workout.
- the reason is because i DO NOT want to overtrain my body.  so by taking two days off per week will help me replenish and recover for the week.  Hopefully this helps alot and i will let u guys know how it goes.  Im sure it will not do any harm.  Most Likely i will do Mercy Abs then X Stretch, Gotta get the Abs in.

Just put up my Pull Up Bar, i never really did pull ups, even while doing P90X because i used Bands.  So im basically starting from Day 1 with Pull Ups but i am positive i will get better and better.

Rev Abs Day 15 Update New Fusion Schedule

ok so today was the most craziest of days.  I received the Bowflex SelectTech Dumbells yesterday 5/52.5 ones and they are like a gift from heaven.  Todays workout was Fire Up Your Abs and that was the workout i did.  But what i also did that made it so crazy was that i followed up Fire Up Your Abs with P90X's Shoulders and Arms workout ( 58 mins ).  A total of about 1:40 of Pure Insanity.  i never knew i could accomplish this but i set my mind to one thing and that was to FINISH AND BRING IT.  I have now, after thinking about it for 2 days, decided to do a Rev Abs/P90X/P90X+ Fusion workout regime.
Here is How it will go for Phase One of Rev Abs.

1) Days that call for " Fire Up Your Abs " I will follow up with a weight lifting DVD from P90X or P90X+
2) Days that call for " Power Intervals " I will follow up with a Cardio Workout from P90X or P90X+ ( Plyo, Kenpo+,Cardio X,Max Intervals)
3) Days that call for " Total Strength Plus Mercy Abs" I will Substitute Total Strength with a Weight Lifting DVD from P90X or P90X+

I really Love those Bowflex Dumbells and they are going to change everything.  I now will stick to a weight range which will allow me to just bust out that 9th rep.  Im looking for some size as well as burning off that stomach fat with a Rev Abs Workout.  When i Get Used to this new Regime i will try and include some Mercy Abs into the Mix.
The Reason for doing this is because i feel like i WANT MORE OUT OF MY WORKOUT.  Rev Abs is challenging  by itself but i want something a little More.

Rev Abs Day 11 Update

So todays workout was Power Intervals but instead since i was feeling good i decided to try Rev it Up Cardio. This is a phase 2 Workout that really has some cool Capoeira moves incorporated in it. Capoeira is a type of dance used by people in brazil long ago but it really wasnt a dance. These people would slow the movements down and practice , making it look as if it was a dance. What it was , was a self defense move and when speeded up would look sort of like karate VERY COOL and a very interesting backround. anyway today was AWESOME i cant wait until the rest of the phase two workouts because they seem so fun. Today i burned about 750 calories and i had a ball doing it. My Shakeology Journey is going SO WELL. I have only been on it for 4 days now, i started on Sunday, December 13,2009 and Today is Thursday the 17th. I actually had 5 egg whites with a diced up turkey burger inside and i had it around 6 15 ...its 9 30 now and i am STILL FULL...usually it takes me 1 hour before i start getting hungry again. THIS IS AWESOME i cant wait to see what the next weeks are going to bring me

SHAKEOLOGY - Q&A

Should I continue to take Activit, Peak Health, or other multi-vitamins along with Shakeology?

While Shakeology contains a lot of vitamins and minerals it’s still recommended that you take a multi-vitamin, especially if you’re working out. In fact, Shakeology will help increase the bioavailability of your vitamin if taken together. If you skip your vitamin your nutrient bases will still be covered but an active person—especially doing a workout like P90X—will always be struggling to meet the nutrients requirements placed on the body. Combining Peak Health Formula and Shakeology can keep you charging through even the most intense exercise program.

I already have some Meal Replacement. Should I throw it out and switch to Shakeology?

You shouldn’t throw it out but Shakeology is a far more thorough formulation. Use your old Meal Replacement at times when you’re active or as a “poor man’s Recovery Formula”. The higher sugar and lower fiber content of Meal Replacement make it better around the time you are exercising.

Can I take this and Results and Recovery Formula?

Yes but not together! Recovery Formula should only be taken during or after exercise when you’ve been exhausting your body’s blood sugar. At any other time Shakeology would be your preferred option.

Should I still take an omega supplement?

Yes as there is no EPA/DHA (the two omega fatty acids in fish oil) in Shakeology.

How about Cal/Mag?

One serving of Shakeology has 500 milligrams of calcium, meaning that you can cut your dosage of Cal/Mag in half. It’s recommended that you take your Cal/Mag with Shakeology as it will help your body absorb its nutrients.

There is no food coloring. How is one green and the other brown?

The ingredients (herbal powders, grass powders, vegetable powders, and some fruit and berry powders) make color green. The base of chocolate blend is also green, but the chocolate and cocoa powders turn the color “chocolate”.

Why does the chocolate have more protein?

The serving size for chocolate is 8 grams higher than for greenberry. The extra ingredients added for the chocolate blend (mostly chocolate powder and cocoa powder) add an additional 2 grams of protein for the serving size.

Does this mean I don’t have to eat any more veggies?

Not that we recommend it but, yes, you could get away with skipping your veggies if your drink Shakeology daily. Keep in mind that you still need to fill out the rest of your caloric needs and veggies are the best source of both nutrients and fiber you can eat. The healthiest diets will still contain vegetables.

What kind of protein is it made with?

The primary source of protein is from whey, which comes from milk. Whey is one of the most bioavailable protein sources. Translation: it speeds to its work of repairing your muscles and its amino acids are readily used by your body.

Is it a good source of fiber?

At 3 grams per 140 calories Shakeology is a balanced source of fiber. More importantly, its fiber sources are varied, coming from apple pectin, flax, chia meal, and yacon. The latter also happens to be one of the best prebiotic sources known to man.

Can I drink this right before a workout?

Shakeology would be much better than a meal prior to working out. If it’s immediately before, however, you’d be better served by something with more sugar and less fiber for rapid absorption, such as Recovery Formula or Meal Replacement.

Can I drink this right after a workout?

Again, it’s better than many other options available but less perfect than something designed primarily for this purpose, such as Recovery Formula.

Does it contain caffeine?

Shakeology contains no caffeine. It does contain green tea extract but the caffeine has been removed.

Is it vegetarian?

The only non-vegetarian ingredient is whey protein, which comes from milk.

I am a diabetic. How will it affect me?

We aren’t your doctor so we can’t give you an official word on this but we’re working on trying to get Shakeology approved by the American Diabetes Association.

Can I give it to my kids?

Once again, we’re in a legal realm, which we’re working on. But considering that kids are “approved” to eat Ding Dongs and Cocoa Puffs and whatever other godforsaken junk we’re pretty certain that it will clear the regulatory radar.

What about pregnant and nursing mothers?

And, again, we may run into legal stumbles but c’mon, this stuff is nothing but healthy natural foods.

Can I mix this in with food I’m cooking/baking?

While possible, cooking would upset the nutrient balance of Shakeology’s ingredients and it’s highly recommended that you drink it at room temperature or cooler.

Will it mix OK in my shaker cup?

Shakeology mixes at least as well as most meal replacement shakes and can be hand mixed easily. For a drive-in style creamy shake, however, a blender is preferred.

(REV ABS) Day 6: Power Intervals + Merciless Abs

ok so today i was feeling very pumped up to workout and i totally killed the workout today. Todays workout called for Power Intervals and i have usually been adding in Mercy Abs after my workouts just so i can burn More CALORIES and burn extra fat off of my stomach so that i see quicker results. After murdering Power Intervals I decided to try out a phase two workout. This workout is the " Father " of Mercy Abs. In this one he gives you NO MERCY, or no break time. All the workouts are a more advanced version from the Phase one workout , Mercy Abs. It was about 15 minutes long and it was totally killer. It was hard to get through the Spice Round, which is where he makes the workouts a little harder so that when you conquer it you can never go back to the old way. You must keep raising the bar for yourself each time so that you can get stronger and stronger. So today was Power Intervals and Merciless Abs and Day 6 is in the books.

Never Skip Breakfast

No matter how busy you are, it's important to fuel your body so that you can have energy throughout the day. Eating a good breakfast sets the tone for the rest of the day. So don't overlook this important meal. Select healthy options that fit your taste and lifestyle.
The Benefits of a healthy Breakfast are:
Jumpstart your metabolism from the overnight fast: Breakfast is considered an important meal because it breaks the overnight fasting periods and replenishes your supply of glucose. Glucose is your body's energy source and is broken down and absorbed from the carbohydrates you eat. In the morning, after you have gone without food for as long as 12 hours, your glucose levels drop. When this happens, your body compensates by releasing the glucose that has been stored in your muscle tissue and liver, called glycogen. Once all the energy from the glycogen stored is used up, the body breaks down fatty acids to produce energy. Without carbohydrates, fatty acids are only partially oxidized, which can cause reduced energy levels.
Works towards weight Loss:
After 12 hours of sleep your body has been fasting overnight, and in the morning you are almost in the first stages of starvation. Skipping breakfast keeps your body in 'starvation' mode, while eating a good meal will give your metabolism a boost. If you're trying to lose weight, the last thing you want to do is keep your metabolism at this lowered state. Eating a healthy breakfast will increase your fat burning ability. Breakfast, therefore, can boost your energy levels as well as your metabolism for the day.

My Beachbody Success


So here i am sitting at home when i saw the P90X infomercial.  I am very gullible to infomercials , to be quite honest, but this one was something totally unique.  Everything they said made sense with their concept of " Muscle Confusion ".  Seeing some of the workouts on youtube and seeing peoples transformations from this made me HAVE TO GET.  I knew that a friend of mine was just about done with his journey and he was going to move onto bigger and better things after his round of P90X.  I asked him if I could borrow his P90X and give it a shot.  The only downfall was that he had lost the nutrition guide.  I tried to get rid of my bad habits and start eating healthier but it just was not good enough.  Every program comes with a Custom nutrition plan that fits the workouts and is designed to give you the best results.  I went through the best of times and the worst of times with P90X.  I had completed 150 days of complete and utter Craziness.  Though i did not see the results that the program promised it was MY FAULT.  I came to understand that nutrition is about 80-85% of your whole workout regimen, no matter what type of training you may be doing.  And if you do not believe me that i did not get the best of results you can check out my youtube videos at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MeqX3v8FOs
              Nutrition is everything and i cant stress that enough.  After doing P90X i decided, after watching and speaking to all of my great friends that i came to know on youtube and Skype, to order INSANITY.  And this time i would get everything that came with it.  The 63 days of complete pain and love of Insanity could never be summed up in words.  This Program is said to be the Hardest Workout Program ever put on DVD.  And after completing one round and then some i have seemed to figure out the reason why.  Following the program as strict as I did, I got some awesome results.  For a kid my age, I'm not worried about the health benefits as much as I am Looking Good with my shirt off.  Even though the Health Benefits come with it, I'm More concentrated on How my body looks.  You can also see my results on my youtube page.  My username is MikeNick123.
             After being involved in such a Hardcore workout program like Insanity and P90X i needed a change.  I got the results i wanted from both workouts combined and now i really want to work on my Core aka My Abs.   I decided to order Rev Abs.  Rev Abs is a 90 day program that promises to give you that 6 pack you have always dreamed of.  I am only in the beginning stages as of right now when im writing this  December 10, 2009.  As of now i am on Day 4 of it and i am loving it.  I can't wait to see what the next 86 days will bring me.
          Beachbody is such a great company!!  They honestly care about their consumers very much because the consumers make the company successful.  They WANT YOU TO SUCCEED and people are always around to help you.  If you are very motivated and enjoy helping people achieve physical fitness and you have done some exercise then you should think about becoming a Beachbody Coach.  I am not yet a Beachbody coach, But I am totally stoked about becoming one.  On January 17 of 2009 I WILL BECOME A BEACHBODY COACH.  I love helping people in any way that i can, and thats why i am creating this blog.  I am creating this blog so that I can share my experiences and give tips to people who may be pondering about whether they should go for it or not.  You may not want to do  a beachbody program and that is okay, but what i want you to do is get up off the couch and take that first step towards a better you.  Only You Can Change Your Body, We Are Only Here For Help.  So its up to you to get up and go for it.  THERE IS NO BETTER TIME TO START THEN NOW !!!



Rev Abs Day 4: Total Strength & Mercy Abs

Today was Day 4 of Rev Abs. Today went over extremely well.  today consisted of two workouts : Total Strength and Mercy Abs.  Total Strength is a Phase one workout and is approx. 45 mins.  It is not like the typical weight lifting you would expect but more of working your back and core.  We use weights while doing abdominal exercises and also do Push ups as well as a Punching Combo Interval, sort of like boxing.    During the back fly exercise my lower back started to bother me so i stopped right away because I do not even want to test it.  Thats the way you should be with any exercise, if you feel like something is not right ( you feel pain) or if you tweak something, DO NOT fight through it because it will only make it worse.
       Mercy Abs is a great combo of moves.  It mainly consists of two ab exercises ( standard crunches and a custom exercise that he calls the Branceo Kick which is AWESOME).  Brett Hobell, the designer of Rev Abs,  throws in some in and outs as well as V-Ups...not the V ups in P90X  these are different. Mercy Abs is about 15 mins and the reason its called Mercy Abs is because you will be begging for mercy when you are done.  After the first round my abs were feeling nice and warm.  Round 2 hit like fire, My abs were steaming and they had so much of a burn that it felt like they were cramping up.  I was loving it after I felt that Burn because you then know that you are getting a kick ass extremely effective workout.  Tomorrow is another day and im not worried about it.  As Long as you focus on your goal at the present moment you will be fine.  Take it one day, one hour,one minute,one second, one Workout at a time.  If you follow this tip watch how much more focused and relaxed you will be with whatever you do in Life.

Just Me

Let me first off introduce myself, my name is Michael Macchiarulo, my friends call me Mike Mac. I am currently 17 years old and a senior in High School. I was born on January 17,1992. Since I was born all I did was play sports. Whether I played in elementary school or on a travel team, I just loved sports. My first love was Baseball, and all I did was fantasize on being a professional baseball player just like any other little boy did. When I had tried out for my High School baseball team I really used all the skills I had to make the team. Unfortunately, in freshman year, I did not make the team. But that was only the beginning because in sophmore year I tried out again. I was a pretty decent right handed pitcher and i went through tireless hours of practice to make this team my second time around. During the actual try-out I was told to start for my team. My team were the Tryouts and we versed the kids already on the team. I struck out the side first inning and when it came to go back out again i pinched a nerve in the lower right sector of my back. From there on out my love for playing the game of baseball again flashed before my eyes. NEVER again could i play the game because my injury was very serious. The doctors could not find out the major reason for this injury but they told me that it was a pinched nerve. Now for a young boy, 15 years old, being told that he can't play the game that he had loved since he was born ever again was a major heartbreak. This is when i knew that i could not let myself stop here, i had to keep trucking forward. I was never an overweight kid but I always wanted to have a good body, i was never satisfied with the way i looked. I started going to the gym with my father and i did tone up a little a lose some weight. The thing was that I wasnt getting the results i wanted with all the hard work i was putting in. My Nutrition was not perfect , but that will be spoken about later on in another blog. I then came across the (P90X) infomercial which then would change my life FOREVER.  (P90X) (INSANITY) and (Rev Abs) would change my life as a whole and put me in the right direction for the future.
